The Inspiration Behind 5475

In 2010, just before I got married, I wrote a song called Forever More. I had the lyrics, the emotion, the melody in my head… life happened, I wrote a ton and recorded a ton for other artists and for myself and that one promising song sat unfinished on my hard drive for years.

Fast forward to early 2025. While browsing through old files, I stumbled across those lyrics. To my surprise, they still felt as real and true as the day I wrote them. Maybe even more so. Fifteen years of marriage later, the love, the gratitude, and the promise in those words had only deepened.

So I finished it. At first, it was just going to be an anniversary gift for my wife, Lauren. But while working on the arrangement, I found myself flooded with inspiration. Memories from the past 15 years—moves across states, late nights, hard days, big wins, little moments—started pouring out into new songs.

One song became two. Then three. And before long, I realized I was making something bigger: a collection that told the story of our life together.

That’s how 5475 was born. The title comes from the number of days we’d been married at our fifteenth anniversary. It’s more than an EP. It’s a time capsule of love, growth, and shared history, anchored by a song originally written for our very new life together.

These tracks aren’t just for us. They’re for anyone who knows what it means to choose love every single day, through every season.

Thanks for listening,
